Description
Near East, Abbasid Empire, Islamic culture, ca. 9th to 13th century CE. A beautiful and fascinating pottery mold used to decorate the interior surfaces of other bowls. Hemispherical in form, the implement's exterior walls feature relief imagery of 2 birds amongst foliate motifs and scrolling vegetal designs, some of which resemble grape vines. Size: 4.2" Diameter x 2.1" H (10.7 cm x 5.3 cm)
