Near East, Persia / Iran, Seljuq Empire (Seljuk, Saljuq), Kashan, ca. early 13th century CE. A breathtaking, intact pottery bowl presenting an inward lip and pedestal foot, all enveloped in rich turquoise glaze with black under-painting of netted, calligraphic, aquatic, and foliate motifs. Kashan was a Persian city known for producing high-quality pottery during the medieval period. This is a gorgeous example of their artistry. Size: 8" Diameter x 3.4" H (20.3 cm x 8.6 cm)
