Four images relating to Washington and George III
18th/19th century
lot includes four works: three George Washington related frames works: 1. A drawing in pencil on wove paper in the manner of Cornelius Ver-Bryck (New York,1813-1844) of The DeWint House, Tappan, New York; which became the temporary headquarters of George Washington while he was Commander-in-Chief during the American Revolution. Washington was a guest in the south parlor twice in 1780 and twice in 1783. This is the house where the British officer Major John Andre (in consort with Benedict Arnold) was tried for espionage, convicted, and hung in 1780. ; 2-3. Two Currier and Ives hand colored engravings of George Washington. 4. A Joseph Stadler engraved hand colored aquatint silhouette of King George III; after the painting by Charles Rosenberg. Published London: Colnaghi & Co., 1810.

Condition
All four are framed. largest 22 x 20 in. ( 56 x 51 cm.) Considerable toning to all; as well significant water spotting and stain to both Currier & Ives prints.
