Painter, graphic artist, writer and translator of works by Austrian writers (in English R.M. Rilke, C. Lavant and I. Bachmann, and in German T.S. Eliot) - as a painter of landscapes and visionary representations. Spent her youth at Meiselberg Castle near Maria Saal, Carinthia. In Vienna she attended the women's art school and studied privately with her future husband Alfons Purtscher (married in 1919). Study trips through Italy, Switzerland, France and Germany, in 1921 he took part in an exhibition at the Vienna Secession and for the first time as a guest at the Hagenbund. Furthermore, in 1923 he took part in the first exhibition of the Graz Secession. In 1926 she moved to London with her husband and taught at a private school in London until around 1932. 1924-1932 and 1935-1938 extraordinary member of the Hagenbund, 1933-1935 foreign correspondent for the “Neue Freie Presse” in Vienna. Selection of literary works: 1932 “An Austrian Background”, 1935 “My Two Worlds”, 1939 “Gothic Twilight”, 1949 “R.M.Rilke-Man and Poet”. Exhibition work in England and Austria (e.g. 1928 Woman's International Art Club exhibition in London, 1930 Carinthian art show in the Kuenstlerhaus Klagenfurt). The literary legacy is located in the Musil Institute at the University of Klagenfurt, works of fine art, among others, in the Museum of Modern Art Carinthia in Klagenfurt.
