According to the letter of provenance, "In 1976, during Elvis Presley's last ever Las Vegas engagement, Elvis and his manager, Colonel Parker allowed The American Heart Association to set up a booth outside the engagement. Elvis was presented with a plaque from the American Heart Association for his generosity...After the show, the AHA representative, Arthur Conner, met Elvis backstage, and Elvis presented him with 2 rings and later a stage costume-to be auctioned off to further benefit the charity. This large, 14kt gold ring with 3 carats of diamonds, was one of those rings. Mr. Conner was the winning bidder on the ring and kept it in his possession for all the years since." The ring was eventually acquired by the Elvis-A-Rama Museum in Las Vegas. The lot includes a detailed 2-page letter of provenance detailing the history of the piece.
