A large Japanese Imari-verte porcelain vase with hand-carved hard wooden cover.The vase, in a baluster shape, showcases a vibrant and continuous scene of elegant ladies ?? (bijin) amidst a luxurious pavilion and leisurely enjoying a verdant garden. Its collar is adorned with a band of petals, filled with gilded scrolling foliage and chrysanthemums ?? (kiku), while the neck features a cloud motif set against a green geometric pattern.The cover is shaped like a reticulated lotus leaf surmounted by a knob.Total height 75 cm, Height vase 61.5 cm, Diameter 43 cm. Weight 15.4 kg.In a very good original condition.
