A good Victorian silver ewer John, Edward, Walter & John Barnard, London 1871 With an aricular scrolling body with merging acanthus handle joining the body and upper rim, hinged domed cover with scroll thumbpiece, the lower junction of the handle with applied cows head, the sides with cast vignettes either side depicting traditional farm hands among a herd of cattle, two cast cherubs applied to the front holding husk swags below a rococo style scroll cartouche, with inscription 'FYLDE GOLF CLUB CHALLENGE CUP PRESENTED BY MR & MRS C V HAWORTH', further inscribed to the neck 'WINNER 1910 W KIRBY', on a cast leafy knop and acanthus scroll spreading shaped-circular foot, further embellished with ovals, beads and husks, height 40cm, weight 79oz.
