A French silver-gilt dessert service of flatware possibly Charles Marsschaert, with first standard Minerva head mark, late 19th century Old English shape with husk edge and leaf terminal, reverse of stem with engraved armorial, placings for eight, comprising: dessert forks, dessert spoons, dessert knives; together another eight silver-gilt handled dessert knives, with steel blades, and twelve silver handled table knives, with steel blades, some different maker's mark and one unmarked, all engraved with the same armorial; together with a French silver sauceboat, with pre and post 1838 first standard marks, oval form with gadroon rims, leaf embellished fluted scroll handle, engraved armorial on one side, on an oval foot, length of sauceboat 23cm, weight of silver excluding knives 40oz.
