A Prussian silver and parcel-gilt Apostle spoon maker's mark 'SZ' in a shield, Preussen circa 1580, stamped 'FW' Preussen tax stamp for pre-1809 previously made silver items Deep fig-shaped bowl, in a distinctive late 16th century Eastern European form, the bowl spot hammered, the reverse inscribed 'CHRISTIAN ROSENFELT', the gilt finial representing St Peter, the tapering faceted stem leading to a gilded decorative mount at the base, the junction between the bowl and the handle, featuring a classical figure, a cross and scrolling motifs, the bowl dropping down from this juncture, height 22cm, weight 2oz.
