Description
A c.1950s Harmony Montclair acoustic archtop guitar in black, owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
Made in Chicago, the Montclair was one of a number of Harmony archtop guitars offered in department store catalogs during the 1950s and 1960s. This example is in good condition for its age, showing wear from use. The black finish of the body has some chips and scratches, with a lot of wear around the edge of the headstock. The 20 fret rosewood fretboard has finger divots worn into the wood in the first position.
Celluloid binding is in good condition as are the rest of its original components, including bridge, tailpiece, pickguard, tuners, logo, and decorative aluminum Harmometal, which is also present on the body as binding.
