Item Details
Description
A black leather lamb skin Chanel top handle (doctor-style) bag with silver-tone hardware owned by Amy Winehouse. Winehouse was photographed carrying the handbag on January 14, 2008, returning home from visiting with close friend Kelly Osbourne.
A box-shaped bag with two leather, toggle chain link handles and a central zip compartment with Chanel logo zipper pull. The bag has two open side pockets lined with Chanel jacquard fabric. The bag also has a silver-tone frame and the base of the bag features silver-tone feet. At the interior of the central compartment is a Chanel label and a hologram tag with serial number 10142639 sewn into the lining seam. The serial number indicates this bag was likely produced in 2006.
Amy Winehouse's style inspired Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Pre-Fall 2008 Metiers d'Art collection, which was held in London on December 6, 2007. The show models had beehives and cat eyes with black eyeliner referencing Winehouse's popular hairstyle and make-up. Vogue writer Lynn Yager quoted Lagerfeld in her 2011 article. Lagerfeld says [while Winehouse was alive], “' She is a beautiful, gifted artist,' Lagerfeld said at the time. 'And I very much like her hairdo. I took it as an inspiration. Because, in fact, it was also Brigitte Bardot’s hairdo in the late fifties and sixties. And now Amy has made it her own style. For me, it was a double clin d’oeil. It is Brigitte Bardot and Amy Winehouse.'”
