Beatrice Heide Thomas, (American, 1913-2002), Chambered Nautilus & Chambered Nautilus II, Mixed Media On Paper. Beatrice Heide Thomas was the daughter of Henry Heide, founder of the Heide Candy Company. She attended The Art Student's League in New York City, and studied art in Paris in the 1930's, where she befriended author Henry Miller. In the 1950's, she was involved in an artist's colony in Truro, on Cape Cod.
