Bathing Beauty. German, ca. 1930. A small canvas painting of a comely lady is shown, then rolled into a tube. The woman’s robe is removed, then her underclothes. When the picture is unrolled, the tide has come in and the woman is depicted up to her neck in water. Complete with original box, three canvases, silk robe, and underwear. Canvas dimensions 24 ¾ x 15 ¼”. First version of the effect we have seen in this form.
