Set of Six Virginia Coin Silver Spoons, Mark of James Meredith
each with "J. Meredith" in rectangular punch to verso of handle, each with faint period engraved "P" monogram to recto.

James Meredith (1791-1860) was born in Baltimore, Maryland and apprenticed under Charles L. Boehme from 1805-1812. He then moved to Winchester, Virginia, where he worked as a silversmith both on his own and in various partnerships until his death in 1860.
