Description
A Great War pair of medals to a recipient in the Hampshire Regiment who post war served in the Corps of Military Accountants. British War and Victory medals, “2741 PTE. C.S COSH HAMPS. R.” Cyril Simmonds Cosh enlisted into the Hampshire Regiment on 25th November 1914. He served with the 1/6th, 2/5th and 1/8th Battalions in India, Egypt and Palestine for which he was awarded the British War medal and Victory medal (he did not qualify for a Star). Renumbered as 281173 he was demobilised on 8th April 1919. In 1920 he re-enlisted into the Corps od Military Accountants (# 7733970) and information in his service record shows that he later served in the Royal Air Force (#352036).
