Description
Maria Cooledge, Hillsborough, NH, 1813, silk on linen. Alphabet and number strings over a cartouche with Maria's information, as well as several birds. In a curly maple frame. 19.5" high, 18" wide. Maria was born to Uriah (1762-1851) and Sarah Curtis Cooledge (1772-1838). Maria was one of 11 children, and the family lived on the "place sinced owned by Lewis Vickery." Maria married and had one daughter, Harriet, in June of 1825. Maria died that September. Additional geneaological information is included in the lot.
