Potted in shape vase, thick and tall, large oval body, short neck with flaring round mouth rim, raised on a short small round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in green base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of eight immortals in various pursuit on ruyi clouds above thrashing lishui wavy waves. The Eight Immortals are a group of legendary immortals in Chinese mythology. Each immortals power can be transferred to a power tool that can bestow life or destroy evil. Together, these eight tools are called the Covert Eight Immortals. Most of them are said to have been born in the Tang or Song dynasty. They are revered by the Taoists and are also a popular element in the secular Chinese culture were frequent adornments on vase. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
