Description
Montreal, Lower Canada, circa 1790. Raised from a heavy gauge of silver and resting on a raised circular foot the bowl is engraved with bright cut decoration of a shield on either sideand scrolling vine border, engraved monogram and family crest. Possibly made as a waste bowl from a larger tea service. Diameter:15cm (6in)Weight: 302g Note: A similar tea service entitled the May Service by the silversmith held in the collectionof the Royal Ontario Museum, very few examples are known to exist by the silversmith.
