Madame, Duchesse de Berry, folding plate at rear, torn, bookplates, later half morocco, variously sunned, original printed wrappers tipped-in, small repair to upper, Nantes, C. Merson, 1832; and 2 others relating to the couple, 8vo (5)*** A small group of works and collected materials relating to Charles Ferdinand (1778-1820) and Marie-Caroline of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (1798-1870), Duc & Duchesse de Berry. Son of King Charles X, the Duke was assassinated upon leaving the opera, after which the Duchess remained committed to furthering her son's claim to the French throne as the last direct Bourbon descendant of Louis XIV.
