05.17.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 4225: I note that the painting and frame are presently intact, the canvas does not appear to be relined based on an examination of the verso, and I do not any patch repairs, the canvas remains relatively taut, and is secure within frame, there is craquelure throughout, and the discoloration from the build up of dirt and grime commensurate with age would greatly benefit from a professional cleaning, upon examination with UV light, there are two small spots towards the lower right that appear to have been inpainted, as well as a small spot at the end of a tree branch, UV examination also shows a horizontal segment along the center of the top edge that is possibly a restoration, but I do not see a tear or underlying damage it may be related to on either side of the canvas
