Napoleonic caricature of a mounted English officer, identified in pencil at the bottom Lord Harrington (Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl of Harrington). A comment on the sometimes unfortunate results of choosing military officers from the ranks of nobility. The awkward figure seated on his undersized horse with a sword at his left side and a cane in his right hand. Classic Napoleonic period “cartoon: art. Custom framed antique hand colored lithograph, with gilt mat liner.
