Description
Just over 1 3/4” height with characteristic quaint charm. Highly stylized with central square pierced with a cross, enclosed in eight-point star formed as the center post and the cross beam as three scallops, all in basket weave. The beam tips as trefoils emulating the “crutches” of the Crusader’s cross, also known as the Jerusalem cross. Christianity in Ethiopia is traceable to the first century, the Time of Christ and the persecution of Christians. The New Testament (Acts8:26-36) records Philip the Evangelist’s conversion of an Ethiopian court official in the first century. Wonderful genuine age character, suspended from a modern black buff leather neck cord. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
