Description
Two Huastec Figures Mexico, c. 600-900 AD A male and female. The male wearing a wide belt and pad on his left knee typical of ballplayers of the time. The female wearing a loin cloth, sandals, and a necklace. Each with an elaborate hairdo and headdress. Solid buff earthenware similarly fashioned. Both with black painted loincloths and eyes. Both in very good condition, minor chips to right hand of female. Provenance: A Private Collection, Hawaii Ex. Stanley Marcus, Dallas, TX Ex.
