Vintage c1940 String Star Quilt in a Tumbling Blocks Setting. it measures 64 by 82 inches. It is comprised of 8 String Stars, each with 6 diamonds, measuring about 18.5 x 23 inches. They are set on point and staggered 2 by 3, with solid red, cheddar, and blue Tumbling Blocks between them. The top and the bottom edges have partial block setting pieces. There is a 3 inch red inner border along the top and bottom, and a 3 inch solid blue border along all 4 sides. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is an off white cotton reverse and a medium loft cotton batting. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front, and applied by hand. It is in good condition with just minor discolorations, and a small seam is coming undone in the center. This is a very graphic quilt with a very modern aesthetic. There is a sleeve along the top edge on the back for hanging. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
