Qing Dynasty Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Model of a Deer. The standing figure decorated with blue and white flowers on a yellow ground. 18th/19th century. 6 3/16" tall; approximately 6" long. For similar pairs of examples see Christie's London, Sale 9963, Nov. 12 2004, Lot #415, $16,563 and Christie's Hong Kong, Sale 2916, May 30 2012, Lot #3929, $14,562. Provenance: A hand written note with the deer states: "Cloisonne - Figurine, Cloisonne - Chinese Deer, Cloisonone - Purchased 10/5/74 [1974] - (1225) Weschler's 1225 [Weschler's Auction House, Washington, D.C.] - $1250.00 + tax $62.50 = $1312.50"
Condition
Minor pitting to enamel, slight losses to blue enamel at tail. Small loss to blue enamel of one flower at front proper right leg. Other minor losses to enamel around legs.
