Sir Alexander Cunningham KCIE CSI (1814-1893) British archaeologist and army engineer, known as the father of the Archaeological Survey of India. Both his brothers, Francis Cunningham and Joseph Cunningham became well-known for their work in British India. ALS, 1841 from India, regarding coins he has been receiving, and making impressions of, and excited about receiving coins from the Rajar of Kashmir; also describing the coins, etc. Three pages, 5-1/4 x 8-1/4". Unattractive in appearance but very good content.
