Description
A Pre-Columbian quadruped dish from the ancient Nayarit region of West Mexico, circa 200 B.C. - 300 A.D. This dish sits atop four feet and was finished with red decoration against a cream colored slip. There are also faint remnants of black resist pattern designs on the interior of the bowl, now worn away by time and erosion. Quadruped vessels are much more rare than tripod vessels in the pre-Columbian Americas.
