GERONIMO KNEELING WITH HIS RIFLE. This is an albumen print on a boudoir mount of this famous photograph by A. Frank Randall. It has Randall's copyright label on the verso, over-stamped in red Copyright by A. M. Blackwell, Las Vegas, N.M. Beneath is a stamp for Evans, E. Las Vegas, N.M. These Randall cards are found, as here, with Randall's label and the stamps of those who sold the photographs. There is a period pen inscription verso: Geronimo, head war chief of the Apache Indians. This was taken in May 1884 in the San Carlos Reservation. Later, Geronimo was to escape and evade pursuit for a long time before his final surrender. Condition
The mount edges are slightly worn and there is a small mild scratch above his head.
