Description
Chinese, 19th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A pair of small plates or shallow bowls with famille rose enamels on teal blue ground with decoration to interior of a single bird resting upon a wisteria vine with bunches of the purple blossoms and buds surrounding and with pink peony flowers at bottom, with a line of rust colored incised calligraphic marks to upper left beside an ovular seal mark. Marked to underside with unknown rust colored four character overglaze calligraphic mark to a white square surrounded by teal glaze to remainder of foot. Plates each presented on a stained wood stand. Each approximately 1.375" tall, 7.25" diameter of opening.
