This delicately carved shell dish has seven gently sloping, lobed sections that come to a single point with a carved bat. The reverse of the dish depicts a floral scene, the floral foot forming the focal point as six long, relief patterned leaves emanate from the base of the dish and fit between the lobes of the shell. The two leaves on either edge of the composition terminate as the scrolled handles.
Condition
In overall good, complete condition, with no apparent losses or restoration. Natural fissures to the stone are present.
