Maximillian JosephAlthough land grants are somewhat common, what makes this so rare and special is the nearly perfect original seal device that is attached.It is in pristine condition.The grant itself is readable and aged as would be expected.This should appeal to collectors particularly as the seal is intact and the signature is of the then King. Maximilian I (also known as Maximilian Joseph) (27May 1756 – 13 October 1825) was duke ofZweibrücken from 1795 to 1799, princ eelector ofBavaria (as Maximilian IV Joseph) from 1799 to 1805,king of Bavaria (as Maximilian I) from 1806 to 1825.He was a member of the House of Palatinate Zweibrücken Birkenfeld,a branch of the House of Wittelsbach.
