A PAIR OF JAPANESE CLOISONN VASES, MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), LATE 19TH CENTURY, of baluster form, each worked in copper wire and colored enamels with birds perched among the branches of cherry blossom trees and blooming morning glories on a pale blue ground, the neck and foot adorned in an intricate arabesque on glimmering black ground framed by conformingly decorated lappet bands within gilt copper mounts.
