Description
Shock Corn by Lyman Byxbe (1880-1980) framed measures 14.5"x16.5". "Lyman Byxbe is one of many great artists who have turned to the majestic Rocky Mountains for inspiration and the subject matter of their compositions. Born in Pittsfield, Illinois, he began at an early age to teach himself to draw. He became a successful commercial artist in Omaha, Nebraska, where he studied the art of etching under Mark Levings, an architect. In 1938 Mr. Byxbe moved to Estes Park, Colorado, where he has had a summer studio for many years. All of the artist's time and talent is devoted to copper plate etching in his mountain studio.
