White marble. China, presumably Northern Wei dynasty (385 – 535)
A group standing on a rectangular base in front of a nimbus with finely rendered details. A larger figure in the center presenting the Buddhist bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, known as Guanyin Pusa in China, flanked by small acolytes, all with a halo and flaming background. A vase and lions on the front of the base, both indications of the named bodhisattva. An inscription on the back. Remnants of red colour as well as earth.大ç†çŸ³é›•è©è–©ç«‹åƒç¢‘. ä¸Â國, 約北éÂæœ (385-535). 高 26.8 厘米.
