Description
China, Warring States, 475 to 221 BCE. This is a ge (dagger-axe) blade. The ge was an early pole weapon, with a dagger-shaped blade mountain by its tang to a perpendicular wooden shaft. This ge was made during a time of great flux in Chinese society, when kingdoms and warlords traded land constantly. Size: 10.4" L x 4.2" W (26.4 cm x 10.7 cm).

Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
