Description
Elizabeth Naranjo (Native American, Santa Clara Pueblo, 1929-), mid to late 20th century. A polished blackware wedding vase, having two necks connected by a twisted handle, the body carved with an avanyu serpent and scroll designs. Signed and inscribed "Elizabeth Naranjo Santa Clara Pueblo". Approximate height 14.5", diameter 10". Note: This piece was awarded a first place ribbon in the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial in Gallup, New Mexico in 1983, which is attached to the neck of the vase. The original receipt of purchase is also included.
Condition
Overall very good condition. No chips, cracks or repairs noted. Small scuff/surface scratch on the arrow head from serpent (see image #8).
