Description
Chinese Ming Dynasty Celadon Censer. The wide bowl of bulbous form set on three short animal mask feet and rising to a waisted neck and flared rim, the exterior carved with blossoming lotus on a combed ground, overall blue-green glaze terminating above the base on the interior and exterior. 9-1/2" diam. Provenance: Purchased at Christie's East, New York, March 19, 2001, "Asian Decorative Arts" Auction #8497. Property from the collection of Michael Hirsch. Also has an old Sotheby Parke Bernet label. Condition: good with Crazing and minor glazing roughness.
