Guy Wiggins (American, 1883 - 1962) Impressionist artist and teacher, known for his New York City Snow Scenes. 30 x 25 ins. Signed lower left. The Certificate of Authenticity dated 19 July 2016, States the following: I have examined the painting presented to me for authentication Oil on canvas 25 x 30 " the canvas has been protected on the reverse by a well made wooden panel. The drafting, the brushwork are all typical of my father's work in the late twenties, an excellent period of his career. What is not typical is that he chose to paint a New York City scene in the rain instead of snow or clear weather. It is also unusual that he signed and titled this painting on the protective panel, but of course, he may have done the same on the canvas itself. This painting is the work of my father Guy C.
