Description

Villeroy & Boch Pottery of Mettlach was founded in 1836. The firm made many types of wares, including the famous Mettlach pieces such as this vintage piece. The back is marked with the 'Villeroy & Bock' name and trademark, and 'Mettlach - Made in Germany' and 'U.S. 1290 Geschutzt'. The shield form depicts the spread Eagle holding draped staffed flag with laurel and in the background is the Capitol Building, Statue of Liberty and destroyer. The banner below reads 'E Pluribus Unum'. The front of the plaque is in very nice condition with good graphics. The back shows some crazing, so please see photos. This plaque measures 13-1/4â€ h x 11â€ w and is quite hard to find and is highly collectible. Good luck!
