Description
Carved wooden mask accented with red organic pigment and adorned with what appears to be human hair. Such masks were known as "Lipico" and were worn by the young Makonde men during initiation into manhood ceremonies. Makonde peoples, Tanzania, Africa. The mask measures 12 x 9 inches. A heavy duty metal display stand will also be included.
