Description
GERMAN METTLACH CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, comprising one 1/2L, mold number 2093, with four card designs around the bulbous body, carved and polychrome painted, and one 1/2L, mold number 2028 with carved and polychrome painted scene in a tavern; both with ceramic inset pewter lids. Both marked "METTLACH / VB" below a building and impressed mold numbers with additional letters and numerals. Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach, Germany. Circa 1900. 6 1/4" and 7 7/8" H.
One area of small loss in applied designs on each, otherwise undamaged.
