Grouping of early medical related collectibles within old Physician calling card “Theo. Meade, M.D. 902 Twenty-Second St. N.W.” including: Civil War era surgical instruments in original mahogany box signed G. Tiemann & Co. NY – incomplete, at least 2 items are missing based on empty interior slots covered in velvet– cover of box marked “MEAD” and brass medallion engraved “USA Hospl Dept”; leather pocket surgical kit belonging to Dr. Mead (calling card found in this pouch) – damage to case but instruments appear to be in good condition; needle apparatus in original box and 2 boxes of hypodermic needles (1 box incomplete); various other medical instruments. All appear to be mid to late 19th century. Provenance: From the estate of Capt. John Miller, Poughkeepsie NY.
