The Haitian Revolutionary General depicted may be Henri Christophe. St. Louis Blaise is known for painting historical scenes, particularly from the reign of Christophe.
This rare original drawing is signed lower left: "St. Louis Blaise 82-84. Seeing the incredible detail, we can note the 2 year effort to complete the work.
