Lot Essay:
Renowned for imaginary jungle scenes filled with animals mostly not found in Haiti, Pierre was an engraver who would occasionally make clay dogs and in 1947 joined the nascent Centre d'Art, Port-au Prince.
"Workshop" is an excellent example of Fernand Pierre's early work.
