The piece is titled "Live Oak Country", and depicts a beautiful hillside landscape scene. The serigraph is hand signed by the artist, and is numbered AP 55/100. The piece is in beautiful condition, and will come with a certificate of authenticity from Eyvind Earle Publishing, Inc. The piece measures 22" x 27.5". Eyvind Earle began his career at age ten when his father gave him a challenging choice: read 50 pages of a book or paint a picture every day. Earle choose both, and from the time of his first one-man showing in France when he was 14, his fame had grown steadily. At age 21, he bicycled across country from Hollywood to New York, paying his way by painting 42 watercolors. In 1937, he had his first one-man show at the Charles Morgan Galleries, and two years later at his third consecutive showing at the gallery, the response to his work was so positive that the exhibition sold out, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art purchased one of his paintings for their permanent collection. He became a background painter for Walt Disney Studios, where he painted the settings for stories such as "Peter Pan", "Lady and the Tramp", "Sleeping Beauty", and many others. Earle also designed a number of covers for magazine publications and had produced and created several animated commercials and specials for television. In the 1940’s, Earle adapted his creative landscapes to Christmas cards, painting more than 800 designs that have sold more than 300 million copies through American Artist Group.
