Description
VERY FINE Chinese Sini-Tibetan Ming Dynasty gilt bronze Bodhisattvas Buddha figure of four arms Shadaksari Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: yig ge drug pa chen re zi. English: the Six Syllable All Seeing Lord) with the two attendant deities Manidhara and Shadaksari Mahavidya.
As the nature of all Buddha, seated Avalokiteshvara, peaceful in appearance with gold ornaments with resplendent, smiling, peaceful serene face and radiant amidst intricate ornate headdress, elongated ears with floral earrings. Adorned with many attractive silks and jewels. Its has four hands, the first right raised slightly above shoulders in Mayura gesturea holding a garland of beads, the right holding a lotus floral. The lower are folded at the heart in Namasakra mudra.
Two beautiful feet seated in full lotus posture upon double lotus crown pedestal.
This sculpture appears to be the perfect example, by any artistic tradition, both for technical precision and exquisite form. The proportions of the body are exact and the overall presence and beauty make this sculpture a precious artistic treasure.

PROVENANCE:
The private collections of Earl Sorensen resides in the Atlanta, and is known as a prominent Buddha collector. A International businessman who traded with various Asian countries during the 1960s. On a business trip in Western China, he received a Buddha statue as gift from a monk. Since then, he has became fascinated with Buddhist artifacts and Eastern cultures. After many decades, Earl Sorensen has planned his retirement, and decided to pass his cherished collections to those collectors who would realize the history and value. Earl Sorensen's collections can be found from Lot-25 through Lot-32, Lot-68, Lot-113 through Lot-135, and Lot-138.
Condition
Over all in EXCELLENT condition. With normal anomalies in nature, missing some stones inlaid, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. some missing stones inlaid. Normal, consider ages and wear.
