Under UV light, the upper left background, the center right background between the head and gloves, the proper right shoulder, a small area on the neck and streak on the cheek fluoresce a purple-blue color. The fluorescence is directionally consistent with the white highlights applied through loaded brushstrokes. Given the distribution of fluorescence, and given that no inpainting was detected under high-power white light, it is probable that the hue is not indicative of inpainting, but resultant of the chemical composition of zinc white, which is known to cause blue/indigo fluorescence. The painting also exhibits faint craquelure throughout and surface soiling. In overall good condition.
