A 1972 limited edition serigraph on paper by listed Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 – 2000). The piece, titled Hommage à Schröder-Sonnenstern, features an interpretation after a 1959 colored pencil illustration by listed German outsider artist Friedrich Schröder-Sonnenstern (1892 – 1982), titled Praxis. The image depicts a surrealist re-telling of the story of Adam, Eve and the serpent in the Garden of Eden, with an abstract fruit-bearing tree and female nude to the center. The work includes stamped facsimile signatures of both Hundertwasser and Schröder-Sonnenstern to the lower margin, adjacent to gold tone embossed notations of “Sonnenstern, 11-9-1972, 80 Birthday, 420 Are Signed in Velvet Edition, 4200 Not Signedâ€, as well as several embossed logos that include “ARS Viva†and “Dietz Offizinâ€. The print is additionally stamped to the lower right as 1592 out of an edition of 4200. CONDITION
