Robert Kaess
(California, 1923-1991)
Robert Kaess studied at the University of California under Erle Loran, John Haley and Margaret Peterson, receiving his BFA in 1948, and his MFA in 1950.
Shortly after Kaess traveled to study and paint in Europe, having a one man show in London in 1953,
In the late 1950s Kaess became allergic to paint and return to UC Berkeley to study medicine.
Robert Kaess's art career was brief, but took place in an important time in San Francisco Bay Area art history.
The Modern Art Exchange is please to be able to offer for sale a small collection of the artist's works from the early 1950s.
Some of the works in this collection are signed, and some are not. (some may be signed verso).
