Watercolor on heavy paper, untitled (composition with purple and yellow), signed with the artist's initials (Alma Woodsey Thomas*, 1891-1978), circa 1960-70. 6 1/2 x 7 1/8 inches. Very good condition. Unframed for inspection and post-auction shipping.
Provenance: Property of a private collector, Dallas, Texas. Part of a larger collection of works acquired by the present owner over a period of time, mostly after 1995. The present lot, together with 5 others, was accompanied by a note that referenced Mr. James Porter, Washington, D.C. [We presume that the James Porter referenced in the note was James A. Porter, who curated Alma Thomas' first exhibition at Howard University.]
